More detail on this person: Harry Grabowski Harry Lee Grabowski, 76, of Farmington died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at his home. Born Jan. 9, 1937, in Rutledge, Mo., he was the son of William Franklin and Maxine Hughey Forquer Grabowski. On Dec. 22, 1955, he married Judith Ann Coop in Memphis, Mo. Mr. Grabowski served on the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department, was a Lee County deputy sheriff, was a major at Iowa State Penitentary as assistant security director, worked for the United States Marshal Service, was a Lear jet pilot for Williams Co. of Tulsa, Okla., and was a firearms instructor. He graduated from Memphis High School, served as an airman 3rd class in the Air Force, flew Huey and Chinook helicopters in the 101st Airborne Division in the Army during the Vietnam War and served 38 years in the National Guard, He was a member of Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge No. 27, Order of the Eastern Star and the I.S.P. Shooting Team, where he shot competitive firearms. He enjoyed hunting, was a motorcycle enthusiast and was known as a dedicated husband and father. Survivors include his wife; one son, Rickey Grabowski of Paris Island, S.C.; two daughters, Vickey Grabowski of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and RoxAnn Grabowski Raisner of Glen Carbon, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Grabowski of Timpson, Texas; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Visitation will be from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington, where family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m., followed by the funeral for Mr. Grabowski, with the Rev. Charles Hammack officiating. The body will be cremated after the service. A memorial has been established for the Farmington EMTs.
