More detail on this person: Charles Gibson AL United States Mr. Charles "Chuck" Gibson of Enterprise passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 78. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Duahime officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Gibson was born July 22, 1928, in California. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a counselor with the Ozark City School System. He was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and sang in the choir, and was also a member of the Gideons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Gibson. Survivors include four daughters, Julia Hopkins (Keith), Shape, Belgium, Mary Rhyner (Steve), Rib Lake, Wis., Sally Boynton (Lee), Philomath, Ore., Jennifer Callaway (Kevin), Enterprise; 15 grandchildren; one sister and several nieces and nephews. Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise, (334) 347-9598, is in charge of arrangements.
