Gordon Jr. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend, Elton Taylor Gordon Jr. of Pine Harbor, passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, after a short illness. He was 64 years old. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 at the chapel of Edo Miller Funeral Home in Brunswick with Pastor Bob Riley officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place in Concord Cemetery in Ludowici at 2 p.m. with Edo Miller Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edo Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Gordon was born in Ludowici on Dec. 13, 1946. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel and Master Aviator. He went on to work with McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company/Boeing, where, among other roles, he served as Southeast Marketing Director for Military Helicopter Sales. Military and career honors include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two), Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Order of St. Michaels Honor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton Taylor Gordon Sr. and Clariece Daniels Gordon of Ozark, Ala. Mr. Gordon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Martha Jane Gordon; and two sons, Elton Taylor Gordon III, Chief Financial Officer for Great Southern Publishers, Inc., St. Simons Island, and wife Diana, Troy Prescott Gordon, active duty Chief Warrant Officer 4 and Senior Aviator with the U.S. Army and wife Katherine; and his sister, Era Lynn Johns of Ozark, Ala. Mr. Gordon was also blessed with four grandchildren, Savannah Marie, Anna Elizabeth, Amelia Clariece and Preston Taylor Gordon.
