More detail on this person: Cowan E. Gentry Capt. Cowan E. Gentry Jr., 56, died April 27, 2002, at his home in Reno, Nev. Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he lived in California for 10 years and in Apple Valley for six years. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and was a career officer and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, from which he retired. He was preceded in death by son Cowan E. Gentry III and mother Doris T. Robinson. He is survived by daughter Kelly E. Reed of Victorville; brother Gerald F. of Victorville; father Cowan E. Sr. of DeRidder, La.; sister Rebecca Flower of Maurice, La.; and granddaughters Kelsey A. and Kaylee A. Reed, both of Victorville. Services were held May 15, 2002, at Riverside National Cemetery, with full military honors. Pastor Dan Barbour officiated.
