More detail on this person: He died in a pool at his rehabilitation facility in Hawaii.

He was in Class 64-8W at Fort Wolters and Fort Rucker. He then went to Korea out of flight school and then the Huey pilots and their aircraft were loaded on a WWII jeep carrier and 4 days later we were in Vietnam.

We also carried the 1st Cav Colors that they lost in the Korean War. I was 1st Cav in Korea and after we departed to Vietnam (flying our Huey choppers off the Jeep Carrier) we were then 1st Inf Div at Phu Loi about 15 miles north of Saigon.

Dick's Daughter Bunny Daughter finally got the VA to provide a Plaque for his grave which is in the attached photo.

Dick had a brother who was also a Helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He has since deceased but I do not have that information, he was also living in Hawaii. After leaving the US Army he flew helicopters for the Honolulu Fire Dept. in Oahu.

I went through Flight school, Korea and Vietnam with Dick Greenwell. Please make sure he is in your records as a deceased Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association.
