More detail on this person: David S. Hampton David Sam Hampton, 64, of Fort Collins, passed away May 14, 2008. David was born May 5, 1944, in Champaign, Ill., to Mary Jane and Jacques Hampton. After high school, he went on to receive his bachelor's degree in English literature with a minor in music. He enlisted in the Army, where he served as a warrant officer flying helicopters in Vietnam. On Aug. 31, 1975, David was united in marriage to Karen Jeri Erdakos in Crystal Lake, Ill. In 1980, they relocated to Fort Collins, where David was an assistant project manager for KEM Homes. He enjoyed gardening, reading and singing in the church band. David is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Timothy Andrew Hampton and fiancée Kerry Noonan, and Jeri Joseph Hampton, all of Fort Collins; brothers, Andy and wife Miriam of Concord, N.H.; Steve and wife Carole of Aurora; and sisters, Mary Suzanne and Kathy Bass of Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service with military honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will be held 4 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Timberline Church.
