More detail on this person: James Alfred Hensley James Alfred Hensley&bb& James Alfred Hensley, age 61, an 18 year resident of Mill Creek, WA passed away at Swedish Hospital May 10, 2001 after a two and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer.&pe&He is survived by his wife, Erika; children, Robert and Diana; sister, Linda; grandchildren, Kevin and Amanda; and son-in-law, Dale. &pe&Jim was born in Portland, OR on May 31, 1939. He enlisted in the Army in 1956 and served as a Medic, Maintenance Officer, and Helicopter Pilot. Jim and Erika were wed in 1959 and were married for 42 years.&pe&Jim served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star and seven Air Medals. He retired in 1976 as a Captain.&pe&Jim served briefly as an Alaska State Trooper, then later became a Federal Agent with the Defense Investigative Service. He retired from DIS in 1999, then worked briefly as a banker for Washington Mutual at their Bothell Branch.&pe&Jim's military career continued with the Washington State Guard where he served for many years and became Battalion Commander. He retired as a LTC in 2001 and was awarded the Legion of Merit for his dedicated service.&pe&Jim was an avid movie enthusiast, a private and commercial pilot and instructor. He loved the Hawaiian Islands and traveled frequently to them.&pe& Internment services will be held in April 2002 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, HI.
