More detail on this person: Daniel Hayward Hayward, Daniel Gleason Bay City, Michigan Mr. Hayward, age 65 years, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Saginaw Veterans Hospital. He was born in Bay City on May 27, 1939 to the late Joseph Krzysiak and Arlene Hayward. Dan was a Major in the US Army, serving three tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Dan was a member of the American Legion Post #18, Past Commander of American Legion Post #18, District 10 Past Commander and member of Voiture 690 40/80. He was employed at General Motors, retiring with over 30 years of service. Surviving family include his daughters: Sherri and husband Steve Strachan, Daniella Whelchel and Rebecca Bergeron; son, TJ Pake; grandchildren: Mercedes Strachan, John and Jacob Bergeron; brother, Joe and wife Kathy Krzysiak; sister, Margaret and husband Jack White; and special friend Joan Koepke and family. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Rev. Linda Pye officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Visiting hours are Friday from 2:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home with an American Legion Post #18 Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. Penzien - Steele Funeral Home 608 N. Madison Avenue Bay City, Michigan
