More detail on this person: Maurice Herbignat, 77, of Irmo, S.C., died on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Maurice was born in Belgium to Claire and Hector Herbignat. With his parents and his loyal sister, Marie, he immigrated to Buffalo, N.Y., as a child. Maury served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He went on to receive a mechanical engineering degree from Indiana Institute of Technology. In 1973 he married Donna Moerlein and with her recently celebrated a loving union of 51 years. He was the devoted father of Danielle (Jason) Kent, Rachel, and Nicholas; cherished Poppy of Jadyn and Dylan Kent; and fond brother-in-law of John J. and Grace Moerlein.
