Houser retired after a successful career and two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U. S. Army. He then became a founding partner of Jamestown, an international real estate company. He is survived by his wife, Denise Houser of Alpharetta; daughters and sons-in-law, Christina Houser McCown and her husband Bill of Calhoun, Mary Elizabeth Houser Miller and her husband Steven of Marietta, and Jennifer Kathleen Houser of Doraville; sons and daughters-in-law, John Ralph Houser and his wife Sheila of Marietta and Thomas Patrick Houser and his wife Susan of Flowery Branch; sister, Jo E. McDowell; and 14 grandchildren. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Those who desire may make contributions to the Salvation Army of Atlanta or to the Atlanta Union Mission in his memory. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory, Roswell/Alpharetta, 770/645-1414.
