More detail on this person: Alvin R. Harris Capt. Alvin R. Harris (USA Ret.) died Friday, December 29, 2006, at the age of 61. He was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, TX, and a 1963 graduate of Burbank High School. Alvin proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years. He served three tours in Vietnam and was highly decorated; his medals include the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart. He was also type-rated in 188 aircraft. Alvin had a passion for aircraft, and was able to share that with others as an instructor at Hallmark Institute. He also was a member of the Lone Star Square Dance Club and the Quiet Birdmen. He is survived by his wife, Tressa Harris of Spring Branch, TX; a daughter, Adrienne Bogges and husband Joel of Lawrence, KS; 2 stepchildren, Ronessa McDonald and husband Dave of Bulverde, and Marc Matney and wife, Nicole of Little Elm, TX; 3 grandchildren, Lacie McDonald, Jake McDonald, and Mia Matney; and 7 sisters and brothers, Patricia Reed and husband Donnie, Loretta James and husband Jay, Bobby Harris and wife Patti, Mary Iguchi and husband Victor, Barbara O'Brien and husband Charlie, Monica Harris, and Michael Harris; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Porter Loring North. ROSARY TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 2007 7:00 P.M.
