More detail on this person: H. Bruce Harrison, 61, died in his home on March 2, 2012, after a brief but tenacious battle with cancer. Born in Elmo, Missouri, Bruce grew up in the great state of Texas. He graduated from David Crockett High School in Austin, Texas. After graduation, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army where he attended flight school and became a Warrant Officer in the 4th Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division. Bruce was an American Hero, saving the lives of untold American GI's during his two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded many medals for his courage, bravery and leadership, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, one of the highest honors in the Military. Bruce attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity where he made several lasting friendships, including his dear friend Mike Dyer, the Godfather of his children. Bruce has been employed with the Pabst Brewing Company for over 30 years. He was an outstanding business man and made a powerful and positive impact on the lives of whomever he came into contact with.Bruce loved boating on Lake Wylie, snowmobiling in Traverse City, Michigan, hunting and spending time with his family and grandsons. Bruce is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patti Harrison; daughter Julia Hayes and her husband Jason of Columbia, son Jason Harrison of Tega Cay, and his beloved grandsons Brendan and Liam. He was preceded in death by his father Hubert Bell Harrison, mother Jean Joan Harrison, sister Alexa Hamel, and niece Brittany Jarrell. The family would like to invite loved ones and friends to join them in Celebrating Bruce's life. The location, time and date will be announced later. It was Bruce's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor the Wounded Warrior Project.
