More detail on this person: Chester Allen Henson, Jr. 72, passed away at his home in Tallahassee, FL. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Thomasville Road Baptist Church at 3131 Thomasville Road in Tallahassee with Senior Pastor Curtis Clark officiating. Interment will be held 2:00 p.m. at Tallahassee National Cemetery at 5015 Apalachee Pkwy with full military honors.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Faith Funeral Home 6972 FL-GA Hwy Havana, FL. The son of the late Chester Allen Henson, Sr. and the late Rose Virginia Danner. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, serving as a Huey helicopter pilot. After moving to Tallahassee he worked as a civil engineer for over 40 years. He served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. He was a mentor to many who had a servant's heart and as he walked with Christ he shared his love with everyone he met.He is survived by his wife Jeanie Henson of Tallahassee, his sons Craig Henson and Josh Whitfield, his daughters Libby Henson and Cassie Mulsing, his brother Marty Henson, two sisters Sally Darr and Jane Koopman, and three grandchildren Jacob Hatch, Kara Hatch and Liam Henson.Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Veterans Foundation at www.floridaveteransfoundation.org
