Hardbeck COLUMBIA, SC -- Mr. John Stanley Hardbeck, son of the late Lois Rook Hardbeck and Vernon Hardbeck, died Monday June 15, 2004 at Richland Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hardbeck, 57, was a disabled Veteran. He served with the 101st Airborne Division as a Parachute Qualified Medic. Later, he attended Army Flight School and graduated as a Warrant Officer Helicopter Pilot. Born in Alton, Illinois, Mr. Hardbeck lived most of his life in Columbia. He is survived by his brother, Jim Hardbeck, of Savannah, GA. Other survivors include his aunts, Truma Coker, of Columbia, Ola Kirby, of Pacolet, Taki Rook, of Greenville and Dorothy Hardbeck, of Godfrey, IL; his uncles, Dr. Don Hardbeck, of Godfrey, IL and Dr. George Hardbeck, of Las Vegas, NV. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Joel Gardner. The family is at the home of his Aunt, Ola Kirby, 490 North Hwy. 150, Pacolet, SC. Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association-Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, P.O.
