Other than Bill's abbreviated tour (a/c accident
caused relocation to hospital in conus) I don't
have any other specifics regarding his subsequent
tours.
Survivors: wife Donna (Head) Crouch (remarried);
From: John B. Hilliker
This is always a sad letter to have to write to
friends of Bill"s, He was killed in an airplane
crash in 1990, Feb the 27th, in Denver. He was
flying postal air freight and the plane's wings
iced up just before he was due to land in Denver
at Stapleton. This was a fill-in flight for
someone else. He was always a safe, great pliot
and would not have taken off if he felt it was so
unsafe, Colorado' weather is unpredictable from
one side of the mountain to the other.
Bill lived a full life, we were married for 27
years and our two sons are both pilots. Bill left
a wonderful legacy in these two men, they have his
smile, his sense of humor, and his love of new and
different adventures.
Bill had three tours in Vietnam, retired at 20
years, went to Law School in Denver at DU Law
School graduated in 1976, we moved to Grand
Junction and Bill practiced mineral law. He went
on to be on the GJ Police Department, not only as
a police officer but as their department
lawyer.
Bill and I met and married while he was at Fort
Carson, he was a wonderful husband and father, I
loved being married to him.
I am now married to John Crouch, a firend of ours
for many years. John always admired Bill as did
so many people.
It was nice of you to try to link up with Bill
again, he would have been thrilled to hear from
you.
Sincerely, Donna Head Crouch
