More detail on this person: BAILEYVILLE AND
HOWLAND - James "Jim" Weldon Harris departed
us Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, much as he lived his
life, on his own terms. James was born Nov. 21,
1945, in Howland.
He was a determined, strong willed man with a love
of flying, hunting and golf. His infectious smile
warmed the hearts of many. James was a
helicopter pilot and served his country in
Vietnam, where he was awarded an Air Medal and a
Commendation Medal. He continued his service by
training new pilots in the craft he cherished. He
was extremely proud when he graduated in 2007
with an associate degree in computer support from
Washington Community College by consistently
making the deans list.
He was predeceased by his brother, Forest Harris;
and sister, Hope Oldenburg. Jim is survived by
four children, Diane Primeaux of McKinney, Texas,
Karen Duncan of Nashville, Tenn., John Harris of
Lincoln and Anthony Harris of Portland. He was
also blessed with 10 grandchildren, Courtney,
Christopher, Cassidy, Blake, Ashlee, Daniel,
Gwenyth, Annaliese, Jillian and Lincoln.
Services will be scheduled at a later date in late
May. Those who wish may sign an online guest
register and leave written condolences at
