More detail on this person: Ronald Allison Herring Ronald Allison Herring of Glen Carbon, Ill., died Tuesday at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, after a brief illness. He was 50. Chief Warrant Officer Herring served 29 years on active duty in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received a Bronze Star Medal. A native of Cross City, he graduated from Dixie County High School in 1964. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kincaid Herring of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a son, Sgt. Ronald Alexander Herring of Hinesville, Ga.; a daughter, Lori Allison Herring-Covington of Woodbridge, Va.; his father, Harold Allison Herring of Cross City; a brother, Mickey T. Herring of Cross City; a sister, Cindy Herring Chesnut of Cross City; and three grandchildren.
