More detail on this person: James Edwin "Ed" Hood, Jr. 1943-2002 James Edwin "Ed" Hood, Jr., age 59, of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Trona, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2002. Ed was born on November 6, 1943, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of James Edwin Hood and Leo Jane Hood Storm. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Storm, his stepfather, Fred Storm, and aunts, uncles and cousins. Ed was in the Army and a member of the U.S. Special Forces in the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart Award. He was a very special person and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two sons, Shane David Hood and his wife Heather, of Springfield, Ryan Richard Hood, of Springfield; a very special best friend, Sharon Buddette, of Ozark; Mother of his children, Karen Denise Hood, of Palm Springs; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dick and Patsy Julich, Nixa; brother-in-law, Jeff Julich and wife Debbie, of Ozark; sister-in-law, Jan Burch and husband Doyle, of Nixa; brother-in-law, Randy Julich, Rockaway Beach; nephews, Justin Webster, and Brandon Burch both of Nixa; niece, Summer Freese and husband Mike, Nixa; aunt June and uncle Joyce Clements, Lamar, many cousins and lifelong friends. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, December 12, 2002, at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St., Springfield, MO. Inurnment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with military honors by the Veterans' Memorial Team.
