More detail on this person: VANDER HUMPHRIES Services for Mr. Vander Pate Humphries, 83, of North Richland Hills, formerly of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Hampton officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Blair Cemetery in Blair, Texas. Mr. Humphries died Sunday, June 16, 2013 in North Richland Hills. Mr. Humphries was born Oct. 30, 1929 in El Dorado, Ark., to the late William Henry and Arvie Lee Humphries. He was a graduate of Kilgore High School Class of 1947 and was a member of the War Years Reunion Class. Mr. Humphries served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Major. Making the military a career, Mr. Humphries served two tours in Korea and Vietnam in many different capacities. He is survived by his three sons, Ronald Van Humphries of Dallas, Roland Keith Humphries of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Rodney Wayne Humphries and wife Pamela of Maryville, Tenn.; sister Evelyn S. Libbert of Tuskahoma, Okla.; ex-wife Opal Humphries; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
