More detail on this person: Lieutenant Colonel Lester Edward "Teeter" Harlow (United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was 74 years old. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 11, 2021, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend John Canfield officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home in Ozark from 10:00 A.M. until service time. LTC Harlow was born October 21, 1947 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Edward Henry Harlow and Lottie Frances Thomas Harlow. In 1966 he was working as a postman and delivered his own draft notice. He flew the UH1 Huey in Vietnam in 1969-1970 under his own motto, "No Guts, No Air Medals". He served in the United States Army National Guard for thirty years. He was in charge of the 1133 Military Group in Montgomery, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Following his military service, he worked at Fort Rucker where he taught aerodynamics and weather at Ground School and was an Instructor Pilot. He retired in 2012. Les enjoyed his family and had a great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Karen Landstrom Harlow of Ozark; one daughter, Leslie Canfield (Michael) of Birmingham; one son, Jason Harlow (Leah) of Ozark; one sister, Brenda Frances Cooper of Springfield, Virginia; six grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pawpawsh", Joshua Canfield, Rebecca Canfield, Jonathan Canfield, Benjamin Sneed, Jr., Maya Harlow and Ian Harlow. Three great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tunnel To Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, New York 10306.
