More detail on this person: Richard Honda Sr. Private services for Richard Sadashi Honda Sr., 61, will be held in Hawaii. Mr. Honda passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Hawaii, in an automobile accident. Richard received his education in Hilo. He was a captain in the United States Army Infantry, Troop B, 1st Squadron (airmobile), 9th Cavalry, 1970 Vietnam veteran. He received the Air Medal January 1970 for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight in the Republic of Vietnam, the Distinguished Flying Cross January 1970 and the Bronze Star November 1972. He was a retired foreman pipefitter, shop 56 at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Richard was a loving father, husband and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Anna T. Honda; daughters Crystal K. Honda, Marrisa E. Honda; stepdaughter Joanne Wiggins; sons Richard S. Honda Jr. and Chester Honda; stepson Alvin Yasuda; father Robert Honda; sister Aileen Kanemitsu; brother Edward Honda; along with 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sadako Honda. Condolences may be sent to his children at 108 Golden Gate Cir., Napa, CA 94558 and/or to Anna T. Honda, P.O. Box 246, Honomu, HI 96728.
