He is survived by his wife, Josie Hood of Albuquerque; daughters, Debra Burns and husband, Marvelland of Boerney, TX and Caroline Weidner and husband, Terry of La Coste, TX; son, Larry Hood and fiancee, Amy O'Brien of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Samantha, Chelsea, and Brandon; brothers, Robert Hood and wife, Jeanan of Des Moines, IA, Jerry Hood of Jackson, MS, and Bill Hood and wife, Kathy of Ft. Dodge, IA; sisters, Sharon Lang and husband, Frank of Ft. Dodge, IA, Peggy Eckermann and husband, Mike of Des Moines, IA and Maureen Bemrich and husband, Greg of Ft. Dodge, IA. Mr. Hood retired from the U.S. Army as a Major and was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. After his retirement from the Army he was a claims adjuster with Farmers Insurance Co. and later with NM Mutual Insurance Co. Funeral arrangements are pending with Laufersweiler Funeral Home in Ft.
