More detail on this person: James Edward Huskey Nov. 14, 1933-Feb. 8, 2007 Former Gresham resident James Edward Huskey, 73, died Thursday, Feb. 8. James was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Mosier to James and Rose (Rowan) Huskey. He was raised and educated in Mosier, where he graduated from Mosier High School in 1950. He continued his education at Oregon State University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1955. In October 1953, James married Patricia R. Holden. In 1955, he joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from the military in 1977, having attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. After his retirement, James took a job with the Radar Company, where he worked for 18 years. He officially retired in 1995. James lived in Gresham from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. He was a member of the Retired Military Officers Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In May 1998, James was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include his daughters, Cheryl Giering of Tualatin, Cathy McNeal of Buffalo, N.Y., and Cindy Landrum of McLean, Va.; brother, Phillip Huskey of Portland; sisters, Nancy Fear of Happy Valley and Mabel Gossett of Vancouver, Wash.; and six grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the Army ROTC Scholarship Fund, Oregon State University Foundation, 850 S.W. 35th St., Corvallis, 97333. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
