More detail on this person: Philip Joel Haakenson FORT ANN - Philip Joel Haakenson, 64, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013. Phil was born Aug. 2, 1948, in Maxbass, N.D., where he grew up on the family farm. He enjoyed a career as a building contractor, who especially enjoyed doing stonework. He was one of seven children born to the late Melvin and Esther Haakenson and was the beloved husband of Linda Haakenson for more than 30 years. Phil served in the Army, where he spent one tour in Vietnam. He loved woodworking, singing, gardening and spending time with his family. He went on seven mission trips to Brazil, where he built churches. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
