More detail on this person: Elvyn Everett Hagedorn E.E. Al Hagedorn, 85, died December 14, 2013, in Austin, Texas. Al was born April 30, 1928, in Staples, Texas, to Otto and Olga Hagedorn. Al was a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps, having served his country for 27 years before retiring in 1976. Al was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell, Texas. He enjoyed traveling the world, square dancing, peach and pecan farming, and gardening. Al is survived by his wife, Joyce. He is also survived by two sons, three daughters, and one stepdaughter. He is also survived by one sister. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 17, at 10 a.m, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell, Texas. Visitation will follow the service. A private interment service will be conducted at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Lutheran Church Building Fund (Maxwell, TX 78656) or a charity of choice.
