More detail on this person: Donald Gene Henthorn Mr. Donald Gene Henthorn, 66, of the Shawtown Community, died 10:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cobbs Chapel United Methodist Church. Brother Jimmy Calhoun will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery Mr. Henthorn was born March 29, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, son of Lucille Woody of Muldrow, Oklahoma and the late Richard William Henthorn. He was a pilot who flew helicopters for the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He received the Silver Star while in service and had been a helicopter pilot for Air America. Donald formed the Air America Club for employees and families of Air America, was the owner/operator of Southern Gulf Helicopter and Henthorn Enterprises and was a Christian. He is survived by his caregivers, Ruth Kendall of the Shawtown community and Vickie Alford of Dyer; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Charles Henager and Brenda and Bill Patton all of Edmond, Oklahoma; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Patti Henthorn of Los Angeles, California; and two half brothers, Clifton Mosier and Douglas Roaden both of Muldrow, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at Cobbs Chapel United Methodist Church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Donnie Kendall, Terry Bruner, Kenneth Tubbs, Mike Alford, James Beasley and Paul Truett. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Cobbs Chapel Cemetery Association, c/o Mamie Denton, 3623 West Main Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
