Hoggard III Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, November 15, 2012 Chesapeake VA United States Claude Hoggard III Chesapeake - Claude R. "Rick" Hoggard, III, 71, died at Chesapeake Regional Hospital on November 10, 2012. He was the son of the late C. R. Hoggard, Jr. and Lillian Hoggard. He was also predeceased by his son, Scott R. Hoggard. He was born in Portsmouth on September 3, 1941. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and became a Captain in the U. S. Army receiving many awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. He retired from the Army in 1974 and created Gull Enterprises dealing in cabinetry and later computer repair. He is survived by his wife Eve; daughter, Jenifer and husband John Anderson; daughter, Stephanie Brown; four grandchildren, Hunter, Jorden, Ricky and Emma and two great-grandchildren, Kade and Orion. A memorial service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, in Chesapeake on Friday, November 16, 2012, 10 a.m. with full military honors. Burial of the cremated remains in be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans.
