More detail on this person: Retired Lt. Col. Haid, Dallas lawyer, dies Retired Lt. Col. Donald J. Haid, a Dallas lawyer, died Friday at St. Paul Hospital after an illness. He was 51. Funeral for Haid, of 2943 Las Campanas, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Highway. Cremation will follow. Haid joined the Army in 1950 and served until 1970 as a pilot. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and the Air Medal with 11 Oak Leaf Clusters. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and Staff College and served in Korea, Europe and Vietnam. Haid had practiced law in Dallas since 1971. Survivors include his wife Juanita Haid; two daughters, Michael Haid and Lindsey Haid; two sons, Jonathan Haid and Scott Haid, and his mother, Sara Haid.
