More detail on this person: John Holverson Maj. John E. Holverson, U.S. Army (Ret), 46, formerly of Peoria, died of a heart attack at 3 a.m. Feb. 10 in West Germany. A graduate of Limestone Community High School, he moved to West Germany about four years ago. Born October 30, 1938, in LaHarpe to John J. and M. Dolores Holverson, he married Linda Pearson in 1983 in West Germany. Survivors include his wife; one stepdaughter, Sue Ann Pearson of West Germany; three sons, Jon Holverson and Jeffrey Holverson, both of Houston, Texas, James Holverson of Killeen, Texas; one daughter, Miss Angela Maria Holverson, of College Station Texas; one sister, Mrs. Maribeth DeRagisch of Bartonville; and his parents, of Florence, Texas. He was employed by the U.S. Civil Service in West Germany for about six months, after retiring from the U.S. Army about a year ago. Services and burial were held Thursday in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, where military honors were accorded. Masonic rites were also performed at the site.
