More detail on this person: Just some additional information about Charlie Howell He served in the 11th Air Assault and then with A/227th, 1st Cavalry Division in 1965 and 1966. I had the privilege to fly with him on several missions. In addition, he was a Rotary Wing Instrument Flight Examiner Instructor Pilot at Cairns AAF for several years before he retired. He owned a fishing boat charter business at Destin, Florida. He was listed in the VHPA Directory back in the mid 1980's. He was the only helicopter pilot I know of that had an 8 inch round fired at his helicopter and when I observed it fly between the skids from nose to tail state, That was close!
