More detail on this person: JC (Jake) Hargis of Driftwood Texas was peacefully relocated to Heaven on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Throughout his life, Jake was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was great student-athlete in school. He played all sports and his first love was football where he led his team as Quarterback, Tailback and Linebacker, often headlining small town sports pages both in High School and in College. He later enlisted where Captain Hargis proudly served in the U.S. Army as an Air Corps Aviator flying anything from Huey Helicopters to A4-Caribous and everything in between. His distinguished service includes tours in Vietnam and Korea. He later met the love of his life, Michelle Hargis and they have been married for over 40 years. When they returned stateside, Jake served as the Director of the Head-Start Program for Tahlequah and surrounding areas of the State of Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth Hargis of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and granddaughter Eva Zingery of Austin, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Hargis of Driftwood; children, Dana West and son-in-law Bob, Melissa Reardon and son-in-law Tex, Carla Gordon and son-in-law Tim, and Jake Hargis and daughter-in-law Donna; sister Fredabeth Avant of Germantown TN; grandchildren, Matt West, Joy Whitman, Tony Burno, Katy Burke, Casey Reardon, Chris, Sadie, Cassidy Gordon, and Penelope Hargis. In addition, he had many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews that he was very proud of.
