Earle C. Erwin, 61 of 113 Foxhill Drive,
Enterprise, died Sunday August 4, 2002 at the
family residence after an extended illness.
The funeral will be 2 pm Wednesday from the Main
Post Chapel (Fort Rucker) with Chaplain Colonel
Harold T. Carlson officiating. Burial with full
military honors will be in the Meadowlawn Cemetary
with Pattterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral
home 6-8 tonight. The body will be placed in the
Main Post Chapel one hour before service time.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be
made to the Gideon's International, P.O. Box
310173, Enterprise, AL. 36331-0173, or to
Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Box, Enterprise, AL.
36331.
Mr. Irwin was a native of Texas having lived in
Enterprise for the past five years. He attended
church services at both the Main Post Chapel and
the County Line Baptist Church. He was a member
of the Coffee County Gideon's of which he served
as the Memorial Bible Chairman. He retired after
37 years from the US Army as a CW5, having
served in the Vietnam War and as a paratrooper.
Survivors include his wife, June Irwin,
Enterprise; one son, Charles Irwin (Kara),
Roseville, CA; two brothers, Harry Harris, Ore
City, TX, Larry Harris, Wayland, MI; one
granddaughter, Jade Irwin, Roseville, CA; nieces
and nephews and other relatives.
(Note) Irwin was in Class 67-13 and served with
the 11th GS, 1CD, 71-72.
