More detail on this person: Daniel "Dan" M. Juneau, 71, of Deland, FL died July 20, 2018 at the Florida Hospital Deland, surrounded by his family. Dan was born on August 3rd, 1946 in Hartford, CT to Maurice and Fernand Juneau. After graduating from Lewiston High School in 1965, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Army and was selected to complete Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. After finishing flight school, Mr. Juneau was ordered to Vietnam where he completed two tours and over 3000 hours as a helicopter pilot. For his heroic service, he received a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross as well as several commendations. After returning from Vietnam, Mr. Juneau attended the University of Maine and obtained a degree in Criminal Justice. For the next ten years, he worked as a Police Officer for several cities and municipalities throughout Maine, and later moved to Florida where he established several businesses. In retirement, he was an active member of the Deland community. Mr. Juneau is survived by his four children: Michael Juneau of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin Juneau of Daytona Beach, FL, Jason Juneau of Greensboro, NC, and Danielle Juneau of Lincoln, NE, two sisters, Anne Legendre of Lewiston, ME, Mary Fogg of Avon, OH, a brother Richard Juneau of Auburn, ME, and ten grandchildren. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday September 8th, 2018 at the American Legion Post 6 1087 Biscayne Blvd, DeLand, FL 32724 from 11-3. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC (date and time TBA). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dan's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL, 32256
