After battling cancer for many years, Walker passed away on April 8, 2022. https://www.ddtonline.com/walker-jones-jr Walker is one of those who helped me very early in my quest to learn about my brother David's life in C Troop 1/9th CAV. We became close, and I will never forget him. This is from a post Walker wrote in 2015, in which he described his passionate efforts to find fellow troopers and get them out from "under their rocks" - and the resultant camaraderie that meant so much to him. "It's been a damn wonderful journey. I don't know anyone around me that has what I have. I was a member of C-1/9th Cavalry in Vietnam. And friends that have my back, who may not even know me. That awareness has put pride in my feet and made me walk with my chin up and shoulders back for the past 15 years. And I am so grateful for the experience. Walker A. Jones, Ph.D. WO Pilot (drafted), OH-6As and AH-1Gs C-1/9th Cavalry, 4/70-4/71" Walker, we miss you. Sadly, Little Sister, Julie Kink sister of WO David Kink C Trp 1/9th CAV KIA 8-3-1969 and a bunch of others, including Walker Jones
