More detail on this person: Bert B. Johanneson, 57, TAIPEI, Taiwan - Bert B. Johanneson 57, of Taiwan, formerly of Rockford, Ill., died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, in Taipei. Born July 18, 1947, in Ockelbo, Sweden, the son of Ben (Tina) Johanneson and Gudrun (Lars) Nyman. Bert came to the United States in 1954. He married Darlene "Katy" Pastuska, and later divorced. He has a son, Stephen Johanneson and a daughter, Kelly (Adam) Clayton, both of Rockford. Bert graduated from Guilford High School, Rock Valley College and Rockford College. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a chief warrant officer and flew helicopters. He earned two Bronze Stars among many other awards, and also had a private pilot's license. He moved to Taiwan in 1985. Bert married Julia Chen of Taiwan. He was employed as vice president of Super Test Corp. for 19 years. He enjoyed golfing and looked forward to his yearly Chinese New Year trip to Phuket Thailand. His loss is a great shock, and he will be missed by many around the world. Survivors include his wife, Julia, of Taipei; son, Stephen Johanneson of Rockford; daughter, Kelly (Adam) Clayton of Rockford; grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew Clayton of Rockford; mother, Gudrun (Lars) Nyman of DeBary, Fla.; father, Ben (Tina) Johanneson of Taipei; brothers, Andy (Cindy) Johanneson of Shannon, Ill., Kevin (Julie) Johanneson of Woodstock, Ga., and Mark Johanneson of Shanghai, China; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be in Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. 12-22-4
