More detail on this person: John F Jones, Jr John F. Jones Jr., 58, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Fort Myers, Fla. He was the son of John F. and Catherine Jones of Spring Street, who predeceased him. A native of Bar Harbor and a retired Lt. Col. In the U.S. Army, John served proudly for 23 years with service covering the continental United States, Europe, and Hawaii. As a helicopter pilot, his time in Vietnam was often duty above and beyond. The call came and he answered. John is survived by a loving famiy; his son, Shamus M. Jones, Lura L. Jones; and his sister, Catherine Jones Young. John had loving and wonderful relationships with his aunts and uncle, Ellen McIsaac of Bar Harbor and Henry and Mary Marois of St. Petersburg, Fla. Also mourning his loss are nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Young Welch and her daughter, Katie, Beth Young with her two children, Christopher and Nicholas and Bobby Young; cousins, Mary Ellen Shea and her children, Amy and Colin Shea, M.J. McIsaac and children, Riley and Naomi McIsaac and Huey McIsaac and children, Rowen and Shelby McIsaac. John was a wonderful man, who loved his Bar Harbor home and friends; took tremendous pride in his country and family and gained respect from all who knew him. He leaves us with smiles of remembrance and saddened hearts. The family wishes to acknowledge M.J. McIsaac, Huey McIsaac, Bobby Young and Shamus Jones as honorary pall bearers. Friends are invited to call 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Bar Harbor with Father John O'Hara officiating. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
