More detail on this person: William Hamilton Jarvis October 13, 1998 William Hamilton Jarvis, 65, of Tobyhanna, died Tuesday at home. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline C. Jarvis. He was born in Chesapeake, Va., the son of the late Gideon and Arizona Jarvis. He was a graduate of Princess Anne City Training School, Virginia Beach, and Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He was a U.S. Army Retired Lt. Colonel and an entrepreneur. He twice received the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medals. In addition to his wife, he is survived by William H. and Janice Jarvis of Dallas, Tx.; Robert and Lori Jarvis of Thornhurst; two daughters, Cleopatra Jarvis of Kansas City, Mo., and Sonia Jarvis of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Gideon Jarvis of Long Island, N.Y.; Gene Jarvis of Virginia Beach, Va.; Wilbert Jarvis and Lafayette Smith of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Doris Jarvis Cuffee of Virginia Beach, Va.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Javier Lovelace. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Linda Prince of Lake Hopatcong United Methodist Church on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390 in Mount Pocono. Friends may call from noon until the time of service. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Fort Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering, New York, N.Y.
