More detail on this person: Alford L Jimerson Dover, Tenn. - Alford (Jim) Jimerson, age 74, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013, surrounded by his family, at his home in Dover, Tenn., after a lengthy illness. Alford was born January 6, 1939 to Everett and Imogene Jimerson. He married Danielle Michel in Podensac, France, on October 1, 1960. She survives. Al served his country proudly in the US Army. He served at Multiple Military bases in the U.S., Europe and the Vietnam War, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Dover VFW. After retirement he continued to travel and enjoyed his daily passion of golf, until health issues limited his activity. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father role model, and big brother, and will be greatly missed. He is also survived by two sons, retired LTC Michel (Sarah) of Virginia, retired LTC Marc (Rosemary)of Texas; two daughters, Myriam Reich and Marilyn (Chris) Porras, both of Virginia, ten grandchildren; one brother, Everett Jimerson (Earlene); six sisters, Addie Wald of Carterville, Mo., Judy (Don) LaPanne of Galena, Mary (Steve) Cox of Baxter Springs, Lula (Irv) Koethe of Dubuque, Iowa, Linda (Roy) Watkins of Galena, Sherry (David) Shaw of Joplin, Mo., and a host of nieces and nephews. Alford's wish was to be cremated. A memorial service for friends and family will be held Saturday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Galena Assembly of God Church, Pastor Jeff Martin will officiate. A private family service will be at Lowell cemetery at a later date.
