More detail on this person: Army pilot dies in auto accident CWO Daniel M. Johnson Sr., 37, who was stationed in Germany with the Army, was killed March 25 in an automobile accident. Johnson entered the Army in 1959. During his 20 years of military service, he received ten promotions and served in Germany, Korea, France, Italy and the Vietnam War. He was a skilled Army pilot and taught and tested other pilots. He had received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and various other awards and decorations. Surviving are four sons, Robert Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Jerry Johnson and Bryant Johnson, both of Seaside, Calif., and Daniel Johnson Jr. of Columbus, Ga,; two daughters, Miss Valarie Johnson of Chicago and Miss Sonya Johnson of Seaside, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Maggie Johnson of Genevia; four brothers, Fletcher Johnson, of Eatontown, N.J., Joe Johnson of San Francisco, Calif., Maj. Dan Johnson of Fort Benning, Ga., and Thurman Cherry of Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Woods of Los Angeles, Calif., and Miss Veda Cherry of Chicago. Arrangements are by Ruffin & Jarrett. The family will be at 5117 W. 10th St.
