More detail on this person: Kenneth 'Kenny' Roy Johnson Kenneth 'Kenny' Roy Johnson of Side Lake, died on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Saint Mary's hospital in Duluth. He was born on July 28, 1941, in Duluth to Roy and Evelyn Johnson. He attended Virginia Jr. College and UMD, graduating with a degree in political science and international relations. He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and served as a pilot in the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked at Hibbing Taconite as a separator attendant until he retired in 1997. Ken was a loving husband and father. His family, friends and God always came first. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and quick to offer a kind word or smile. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. He played cribbage at Riverside on Tuesday nights and bowled in the Sr. League on Monday mornings. Ken loved hunting and fishing and just being outside. He is survived by his wife, Janine, and daughter, Kate, of Side Lake; brothers, Grant (Lou Ann) of Hoyt Lakes and Bruce (Tootie) of Tucson, Ariz. Funeral: Service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 11 am. Visitation: Will be held at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing on Monday, Jan. 28, from 5-7 p.m., and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing.
