More detail on this person: Ronald J. Johnson, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018, knowing he was well loved. Ronald was born on December 1, 1948, son of James and Lois (McCaslin) Johnson. He graduated from West High School and served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Throughout life, Ronald was employed in the manufacturing industry having a successful career as a metal fabricator. He married Linda (Scida) Johnson on January 30, 1976. Ronald was a devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years; son, James; daughter, Julie (Arthur) Crossett of Connecticut; grandson, Artie Lee; sisters, Jacquelyn Benedict, Jennifer (Don) Johnsen, and Lorine Smith; brother, Mark (Shelley) Johnson; sisters-in-law and their spouses; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents; in-laws, Charles and JoAnn DeMolli, and niece, Yvonne. A special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice for their care and support. Memorial service was held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory - Riverside Chapel, 3910 North Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103.
