More detail on this person: RECEIVES AIR AWARD - First Lt. Oscar Joffrion, Jr., recently received his Gold Star in lieu of his fourth Air Medal from Col. E. C. Fusan, commanding officer of the Air Facility. Lt. Joffrion was cited for action under intensive Viet Cong anti-aircraft fire, with the citation signed by Lt. Gen. Victor Krulak, commanding officer of the Fleet Marine Force in the Pacific. The Marine flier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Joffrion, 3076 Nicholson Dr., Baton Rouge, is now separated from the service and is training helicopter pilots for the Army in Mineral Wells, Tex. He is a graduate of Catholic High School, attended LSU and received flight training at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fla. August 28, 1965, State Times Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA)
