More detail on this person: Maj. Lewis Woodrow Keller, Jr. peacefully passed away February 4th, 2018. At the young age of 74 years old, Lew left a loving wife, two beautiful daughters, and five grandchildren. He was born on September 3rd, 1943 in Lansdale, Pennsylvania to Lewis Woodrow Keller Sr. and Alverda Marie Keller. He was the oldest of three siblings. During his adolescence, Lewis devoted his time to the completion of his Eagle Scout in the Valley Forge Council of Boy Scouts of America in 1962, as well as graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy. He then went on to join the JROTC Exploring program and enlist in the United States Army. After his enlistment, he was able to complete a Bachelor's Degree at Kansas Wesleyan before taking an active military role in 1968. Shortly before beginning active duty, Lewis found the love of his life, Mary Louise Zschach, at a pizza parlor. They were married the next year on April 2nd, 1968. Two years, and two kids later, Lew was deployed to Vietnam to serve as a dust-off pilot in the 101st Airborne Division. Maj. Keller served his country valiantly for 28 years and retired in 1995 under the 1st Battalion 245th Aviation Special Operations Airborne. During his service, Lewis modestly accepted the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, and many more. After he retired from the army, Maj. Keller got a Masters Degree from OSU-Tulsa, and continued his education by pursuing teaching certificates to share his knowledge and insight with others. Lewis taught history at Claremore high school for 16 years before he retired in 2012. Lew's hobbies included golfing with friends, traveling with his wife and family, camping, playing the accordion coaching soccer, participating in church activities, was a part of the OCS 20-69 airborne reunion group, and was a part of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association of Oklahoma. Lew is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Keller Sr. and Alverda Keller. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Keller; his brother David Keller and sister-in-law Heidi Keller of Royersford, PA; brother Edward Keller of Philadelphia, PA; his daughter Katherine Wrobel of Oklahoma City; daughter Jennifer Kuehn and son-in-law Ted Kuehn of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Alyson and Michael Wright, Kassandra Wrobel, Jonathan Kuehn, Michael Kuehn, and Zachary Kuehn. The Memorial Service Honoring Maj. Lewis Woodrow Keller Jr. will be February 24th at 11:00 a.m. at All Souls Unitarian Church, 2952 S.
