More detail on this person: Richard Carl Karsten, 79, of Montgomery, IL passed away on May 5, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 19, 1942 in Fort Oglethorpe, GA the son of Carl and Edna (Simonson) Karsten. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot during Vietnam. In 2001 he retired from Exelon after many years of dedicated service. Rich was always willing to lend a helping hand and jumped at the opportunity to help someone with a project. He is survived by his wife Annetta; children, Kevin (Patty) Kuhn, Tracy Kuhn, Rick Kuhn and Nathan (Carrie) Karsten; grandchildren, AJ, Elly, Katie, Gracie, Andrew, Ryan, and Eric. He is also survived by his beloved dog Willow. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald (the late Diane) Karsten. Family will be receiving guests on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 Pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 1:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to Journey Care Hospice.
