More detail on this person: JENE KUTCHMAREK Jene Roger Kutchmarek passed away, at his home, Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, with his beloved wife, Kuniko, at his side. He was born to the former Michael and Victoria (Pestka) Kutchmarek in Mosinee, Wis., Dec. 8, 1932. He graduated from Mosinee High School, attended Superior State College, and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952, where he served a distinguished 21-year career as a helicopter pilot in the Korean and Vietnam wars, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He married Kuniko Oyama Jan. 5, 1973, retired to Florida and worked for the St. Petersburg Times before moving to North Las Vegas in 1993. Jene loved gardening, travel and the companionship of his pet dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, William. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Kay McGregor of Amarillo, Texas; grandsons, Brian Sheriff and Michael McGregor; brothers, Michael of Jacksonville, Ala., and Darrell (Barbara) of Waunakee, Wis.; and sisters, Pamela (Herbert) Salyer of Dayton, Ohio, Deborah (Lance) Krzmarcik of Jordan, Minn., and Melinda (Roger) Baur of Mosinee, Wis. Military services will be at 8:40 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. Burial will follow.
