More detail on this person: Edward Joseph King, 57 of San Diego DEATHS ELSEWHERE Philadelphia Inquirer, The (PA) - Thursday, March 8, 1984 Edward Joseph King, 57, a combat veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, died March 1 in San Diego. He formerly lived in Philadelphia. A retired Army pilot with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he served with the Navy in World War II and re-entered service, with the Army, after earning a degree in business administration at Temple University. He worked with the Berlin Airlift in 1948 and 1949, operating from Templehof Airport. He also served in the Korean conflict and had two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He later worked as executive officer at the Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground. Survivors: daughter, Patricia Dotterer; sons, Edward 3d and Douglas; mother, Mildred King; a granddaughter; a brother, and a sister. He was buried with military honors yesterday in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery.
