More detail on this person: Col Jimmie King Jimmie was the brother of Eunice, Bertha, Carrie, Rosevelt and Inez King. At the time of the 1940 census, the family was living in Birmingham, Alabama, and Jimmie's father was employed as a coal miner. Jimmie's father, born August 19, 1900, died December 23, 1942 in Fairfield, Jefferson County, AL. Burial place: Panola, Sumter County, AL. Extracted from wife's obituary: Lenister T. "Leni" King, of Vacaville, passed away in Fairfield on April 4, 2017, following a short illness. Leni grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois, and joined the Army shortly after graduating from high school. One of her greatest and rewarding experiences was working in Vietnam in 1967-69 during the war. It was there that she met her husband, Jimmie. She found being a Colonel's wife to be challenging but also rewarding. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn and son-in-law, Darryl Ashley of Vacaville; grandsons, Andrew of Cordelia, Brian of Vacaville; and sister, Dolores Hampton living in Tennessee; and a host of nieces and
