More detail on this person: Funeral for retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 Omar K. Kipe, 77, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chaple with Revs. Samual J. Avritt, Pastor, Hilltop Baptist Church, and Kenneth Hayes, retired Baptist minister, officiating.

Mr. Kipe died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001 in a local hospital. Burial with military honors will be at Post cemetery. He was born Dec 12, l923 in Waynesboro, Pa. He retired from the Army in l968, after serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded th Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. He married Thelma F. Meyers on Aug 2, l986, in Lawton. He was a carpenter and builder and served for 22 years with the Holy City of the Wichitas, and was on the board of directors. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; former wife, Betty Lemons, Lawton. a son, Michael Keith Kipe, Union City, Tenn; a daughter Anita Janice Kipe, Smithsburg, Md; three stepdaughters:Pam Howard, Columbus, Ohio; Trugina Hernderson, Tuttle, OK and Sandra Lynne McManamaw, Lawton,OK; three

brothers: Frank Kipe and Howard Kipe, both of Waynesboro, Pa; and Alan Kipe, Hagerstown, Md; two sisters: Janet Hosteretter, Chambersburg, Pa; and Lois Peckman, St. Thomas, Pa; six grandchildern; seven stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy City of the Wichitas, Box 203, Lawton 73502.

Omar had been sick for a long time, stroke and a hip operation and been in a wheel chair for quite a while. I went to his funeral and he looked like he always did and he was buried in his Blues. His wife will not be geting any of his retirement pay and she has it rough, my nephew is the VA Service Officer for this area and he is going to try to get her some help her only income is about $250.00 per mont from a 401k.
