More detail on this person: Stuart Oscar Kendall June 3, 1939 - May 8, 2021 With great sadness and surprise, we say goodbye to Stuart Oscar Kendall. Stu was a native Oregonian, born in Toledo, raised in Corvallis, and a graduate of Oregon State University and Lewis & Clark Law School. At OSU, he had a chance encounter with a Marine Corps recruiter, joined the Marine Corps, was selected for flight school, flew medivac helicopters, and retired as a lieutenant colonel after 20 years of active and reserve duty. After returning from Vietnam, he served as a Marine Corps flight instructor in Orange, Calif. He met and married his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Aber, in 1966, and they returned to Oregon where Stu began law school. He practiced law as what he coined a "street lawyer" in Lake Oswego for 30 years. In his retirement, he assisted his veteran friends with accessing veterans' benefits. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Lisa (Jay), Stephanie, and Angela (Justin); his sister, Karen Randolph; grandchildren, Jaya, Jake, Emily, Johnny Oscar, and Lila.
