More detail on this person: Michael Lovett was a brilliant, kind, loving and brave man. He lived a rich and varied life, anchored by his love of family and a strong faith. Mike faced many challenges in his life but he viewed them as opportunities to learn and grow, and his curious mind and strong personal values kept him constantly

moving forward. Mike began his career in the Army in Viet Nam and went on to command aviation units in Central America, Europe and the U.S. He served as liaison to the House Armed Services Committee and retired as a decorated Lt. Colonel. Mike then made a successful transition from the Armed Forces

. to a career in financial services as a senior advisor at Merrill Lynch. He completed several degrees and professional . deSignations including Masters Degrees in Business Management from Central Michigan University and Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He was a former Chairman and Commissioner of the Palm Springs International Airport Commission and a Trustee of the University of California Riverside Foundation. Mike adored his family and they adored him. As they mourn his loss they gain comfort from each other and from the legacy of the full and meaningful life he lived. He is survived by his wife Juanice, his children, Mary-Allyn, Mike Jr., Sanya, and Daniel, his mother Virginia and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at The Church of Saint Paul in the Desert in Palm Springs at 11 a.m. Dec. 13, 2013 followed by a reception at 12:30 at the O'Donnell Golf Club.
